Truck Name: Buttermilk Truck Cuisine style: Breakfast Favorites Usual Locations: Fix Coffee, Din-Din-A-Go-Go (LA/South Bay), Freddy's Food Court (Harbor City), Covina Years in Business: Three years Owner/Chef: Gigi Pascual Background: Pascual has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a Certificate in Pastry Arts from Loyola Marymount University. Specialty menu items: Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Fried Chicken and Cinnamon Waffle, Cake Donut Holes, Buttermilk Brick (Hash patty, 2 eggs over easy, Chorizo gravy and Buttermilk Biscuit). What's your most difficult item to prepare and serve? The Red Velvet Pancake Batter is made from scratch, which is quite the process. Each order is cooked to order so patience is a virtue, but well worth it. Top seller? Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Pancakes and Fried Chicken and CInnamon Waffle. How popular are your breakfast items for lunch, dinner and dessert? Which one is more popular? Our menu has a good spread of items for savory and dessert. Breakfast can be eaten any time of the day. Our Fried Chicken and Waffle, when offered for lunch or dinner, is very popular. What is so special about buttermilk (the ingredient)? For me, buttermilk adds a richness, a savory and tart aspect that milk does not offer. What's your favorite food truck? Frysmith If you could meet one chef, who would it be and why? Chef Paul Qui, winner of Top Chef Season 9. He is so talented, focused, and most important, very humble. Favorite locations?
